Limen
live AV performance - 2022
Limen combines modular synthesis and 3D video art in a hyper-colored and fragmented relationship that evokes states of contemplation, vulnerability and vitality. The performance unfolds in a bidirectional relationship where sound and image interact and influence each other. The performance suggests a botanical electronic fiction that deals with the interdependence of plants and architecture, inspired by ecobrutalism. By decentralizing the human from the discourse and focusing on these non-human communications, we propose that the relationships between plants and architecture are mostly entangled, dynamic, and continually shifting. We seek to create a messy ecological mythopoetry that, through timbre, rhythm, and modular melodies, unfolds through great sensitivity. Limen was chosen for a residency at Sporobole artist Center of Sherbrooke in 2023.
